The online forum was the first international academic exchanges organized by the center. It aims to promote the AI research direction by inviting global talents to discuss the key frontier theories and technical problems in the future AI development. The online discussion of experts, scholars and young talents attracted more than 20,000 audience.

Prof. Xu Bo, the director of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the chairman of the forum, emphasized that the center would focus on the basic theory of AI new generation, new human-computer interaction technologies and equipment, smart technologies for health and accessibility, and AI open platform technologies etc. to facilitate the establishment of science and technology in the Greater Bay Area.

Prof. Shi Luping of Tsinghua University, Prof. Tao Dacheng, Foreign Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Academician of the Australian Academy of Sciences, Chair Prof. Zhang Lei of Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Prof. James Kwok of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology respectively had wonderful keynote speeches focusing on brain-like computing and deep learning.

In the academic report session, Prof. Zuo Wangmeng from Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. Liu Xin from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Associate Prof. Wu Baoyuan from Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Associate Prof. Liu Yong from Renmin University of China, and Associate Prof. Yang Meng from Sun Yat-Sen University and Assistant Prof. Wang Shiqi from City University of Hong Kong also shared their unique insights respectively.
