Dr. Zhongkai Zhang is currently an Associate Professor and the leader of Medical Simulation Group at Chinese Academy of Sciences-Hong Kong. His research focuses on simulation-based techniques for medical applications. Prior to joining CAIR, he held a position as a permanent research scientist (chargé de recherche, similar to a Lecturer in UK) in the field of Robotics & AI at the Department of Mathematics and Digital Technology, INRAE, France. He obtained his PhD in Simulation & Robotics from INRIA, France, and subsequently undertook a one-year research engineering position at INRIA to develop simulation software. Additionally, he completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Robotics & AI at CNRS, France.
