Dr. Zhen Chen, an Assistant Professor at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received the Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong in 2022, and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher. During the Ph.D., he had interned at Tencent AI Lab. His research focuses on computer-aided diagnosis, multimodal medical large models, smart surgical intervention and their applications to surgical embodied AI systems. He has published more than 30 papers in top-tier journals and conferences, such as MedIA, TMI, TIP, IJCV, MICCAI and AAAI. He served as the chair of ICRA-2024 C4SR+ Workshop and IJCAI-2023 Symposium on Medical Large Models, and served as the program committee of MICCAI-2022 DeCaF Workshop and MICCAI-2021 DGM Workshop. He received the 2023 Hong Kong Young Scientist Award (Engineering track), MICCAI-2022 Young Scientist Award (2nd author), MICCAI-2021 Student Travel Award and TMI-2023 Distinguished Reviewer Award.
