Responsibilities:

The successful candidates will conduct fundamental research in artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, game theory, optimization, and real-world applications in, e.g., security. We particularly welcome researchers with strong interests in equilibrium computation. Expected outputs are scientific publications and/or patents/prototype systems. The applicant's professional background includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Algorithmic Game Theory
  • Algorithm Design
  • Computational Complexity
  • Optimization
  • Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning

The applicant is expected to:

  • Undertake important scientific and technological tasks and achieve research outputs.
  • Prepare funding applications in existing and new areas of research, if required.
  • Assist CAIR R&D and other activities to facilitate our strategic growth of research.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. (or Master degree for Research Associate) in computer science/engineering, mathematics, economics, operations research, physics or related disciplines. 
  • Good teamwork ability. Willingness to conduct multi-discipline research and engage with researchers with different backgrounds.
  • Research experience with a proven track record of publication and technology innovation

曾大军 Daniel Dajun Zeng

Dr. Daniel Dajun Zeng is the Senior Deputy Director of CAIR, HKISI-CAS. He is a research professor at CASIA and also serves as Vice President of CASIA. Dr. Daniel Dajun Zeng (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in economics and operations research from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 1990, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. He has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles. His research interests include intelligence and security informatics, infectious disease informatics, social computing, recommender systems, software agents, and applied operations research and game theory. 张有枝 Youzhi Zhang

Dr. Youzhi Zhang is an assistant professor of CAIR, HKISI-CAS. Before joining CAIR, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Northwestern University, USA, working with Professor V.S. Subrahmanian. From August 2020 to August 2021, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Dartmouth College, USA, working with Professor V.S. Subrahmanian. He received the Ph.D degree in Computer Science from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he was advised by Professor Bo An. Prior to that, he received the Bachelor and Master degrees from the Sun Yat-sen University, China.

His research interests include artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, computational game theory, multi-agent reinforcement learning, and optimization. He focuses on equilibrium computation in multiplayer games and the application of game theory. He has published over 20 referred conference/journal papers, including top conference papers at AAMAS, IJCAI, AAAI, ICLR, and ICML, including the paper of Long Oral Presentation at IJCAI 2022. For contributions to algorithms for equilibrium computation in multiplayer games and their applications, he won the Ph.D Best Thesis Award from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, in 2021.
